Der MASS:STAB
...is Herpa's bi-monthly flagship car and truck publication. It shows what model railroaders can look forward to with Herpa vehicles, plus other model subjects. This is the - ahem, very late - December 2014 issue.

Inside
MASS:STAB editor Oliver Kaschel pens an editorial which sets the tone for the magazine. Next is an update of Herpa Car Club News announcing winners of the year’s specials, plus the new releases.

COVER STORY
Karl der Grosse:A Mercedes-Benz super truck of transport company Otto Miedl showcases the rolling mural and the Herpa model. The model is available as a special edition, item 121 576, Weltgeschichte (World History ) Nr. 14.

NEW FROM HERPA
Der Vier-Sterne-Truck / The Four-Star Truck : another M-B semi celebration of a prototype, plus a custom model of it.

CONVERSIONS / UMBAU
1. An (Almost) Never Ending Story / Eine (Fast) Unendliche Geschichte, Part 5: MAN LE 10.220 LAEC/AIRMATIC ULF: converting a MAN fire and rescue truck.
2. ”Peter’s Toolbox”, Die Portalfräse (The Portal Milling Machine) Stepcraft 420: a review and demonstration of a modeler’s computer controlled multifunctional tool system, the Stepcraft 420. It demonstrates the cutting of shapes and textures into common model material. This allows modelers to create their own models!

NEUHEITEN / NEWS, July/August 2014
New Herpa models for January/February 2015 are presented.

REPORTING
Mit List und Tücke / With Cunning and Guile: Herpa’s incredible Liebherr LR 1600/2 crane is examined.

DIORAMA
1. Technical Instruction : a large and detailed model military training base with troops formed up to learn about large wheeled military support vehicles. Road vehicles, garages, people and scenery is displayed. A fine diorama by Bernd Franta.
2. The Tractor Works: this beautiful diorama shows a rustic rural tractor repair shop and features a building by model maker Modellbauluft. It features vehicles, people, farm animals, scenery, and the building. Super work by Peter Schmäring.
3. All Year : a snowy diorama by Bruno Kaiser showing emergency responders with a road accident next to a railway.

SAMMELN / COLLECT
The 1:43-Metal Car World 80 Years Old – Herpa Feiert Mit: a look at 80 years of Herpa cast metal automobles in European O scale, compared to Herpa’s big models today.

Finally:
A section on book reviews, upcoming events, previewing the next DER MASS:STAB, and Herpa Club news. Herpa announces DER MASS:STAB is available on CD. Also editorials, comments, plus:
