Introduction
Stinging Nettle (Brennnesseln) by NOCH is a set of fiber scenery plants in the range of Laser-Cut Minis. This set is item 14138.

Laser-Cut Minis
use laser technology to cut highly detailed models of flowers, reeds, cabbage, nettles, and other plants; colorful, unique shapes, with fine printed details. Whether used for HO layouts or other dioramas, it is easy to create super-realistic flowerbeds, gardens and garden plots for your model landscape. Some are flocked with colored flower petals.

NOCH currently advertises more than two dozen of these sets in three scales: HO (1/87), TT (1/120), and N (1/160). All can be planted right out of the package with a drop of glue.

Stinging Nettle
Set 14608 Stinging Nettles is a set of 10 plants lased into an accordion fold of textured pre-colored paper. The paper is fibrous and resists tearing. It only took me about 4 minutes to remove the shown plants from their "frets", form them, and plant them.

The paper is printed with good random plant colors and patterns.

Planting
To plant the nettles, simply remove them from the paper "frets". Only two parts are actually attached to the frets, and the connector is easy to pull free. The paper is remarkably strong and resists my clumsy handling. Only two plant tops tore loose.

I rolled the plants across a toothpick tip to make the leaves and stem stand.

NOCH lased a common "root ball" between the stems in the middle. This allows a very simple method of setting the plants into whatever surface you desire.

Scale
NOCH scaled this set to HO - 1/87. I "planted" them around an HO miners cabin and along an O (1/48) railroad track buffer.

Ready to Pluck
NOCH Laser-Cut Minis Stinging Nettles, item 14138, is an excellent product to quickly and easily create a stand of excellent looking weeds. Removing, shaping, planting and photographing these nettles took only about 5 minutes.

I have no meaningful criticism of this product and happily recommenced it.

Please remember to mention to NOCH and retailers that you saw these reeds here - on RailRoad Modeling.
SUMMARY
Highs: Crisply cut and formed plants with realistic texture and color. Very easy to use.
Lows: Nothing of consequence.
Verdict: Laser-Cut Mini Nettles are a gentle way to make a great looking stand of stinging weeds.
