Low bushes - Autumn Colour

Model Scene's Low bushes - Autumn Colour mat is a highly realistic model of nature's final burst of color of a waning time before winter. The size of the mat accommodates all but the largest 1/35 models and can be torn and cut to size and shape as needed. The mat can be cut and torn to fit and blend with other Model Scenes mats and those of other manufacturers.

The mat is packaged on a cardboard backing over which slides a clear plastic sleeve. This both protects and displays the product. Included is a paper with instructions about shaping and gluing the mat.

The mat is 18x28cm (7"x11"). Made of synthetic interwoven material this effectively simulates wild grass and short shrubbery in autumn hues. The foliage is not uniform in height and texture, enhancing the realism. Creating further authenticity to the model autumn field, it is sprinkled with muted brown, rust, green and red bits simulating flowers and leaves. Small bits of grass and leaves are loose and fall off. It is Fall, after all.

To demonstrate the quality and effect of the mat to you, I present photographs of the mat in both artificial and natural light. Four models in common scales are used for perspective: 1/35 M-8 Grayhound, a 1/48 tanker truck, a 1/87 horse and wagon with farmer, and a 1/100 Focke-Wulf 190. Notice the proportions of the foliage compared to the scale of the model.

Summary

Model Scenes' Low bushes - Autumn Colour mat offers you stunning scenery that you can use for displaying a single model, or as part of a complex diorama. Easy to handle and use, this is a convincing authentic scenic model. Recommend.

This looks to be a very good product with the only negative I can see being it could do with being larger for 1/35th AFV's. I do have a question which is how hard would it be to shave track ruts into the mat and apply a churned up mud to the mix? Or is it like a fleece material rather than a true mat.
