Introduction

Family vans and minivans are a significant presence on today’s roads. Mercedes-Benz offers the Vito for families. For the International Motor Show 2010 Mercedes Benz presented the new MB Vito model upgrading 2010 with a whole new front.

Herpa Mercedes-Benz 2010 Vito Station Wagon

Factory assembled and ready to go, Herpa offers this excellent model of the Vito. It’s securely packed in a form-fitted tray. The tray is held inside Herpa’s red carton with a plastic film window, and opens via tabs at each end. A Daimler licensing label is on one flap. The model is skillfully molded and assembled without any blemishes or flaws. Doors, hoods, and access panel lines are defined with fine recessed lines, as is the grille. The door handles are raised. Soft tires mounted on detailed hubs support the model.

Detail and Trim

The model features headlights and tail lights of appropriately colored clear lenses. Detail inside the passenger compartment includes a dashboard, steering wheel, gear shift, console and seats; this detail can easily be seen through the windshield.

Exterior detail includes side view mirrors. The black grille sports a chrome Mercedes-Benz emblem. Windshield wipers detail the windshield. All windows, bumpers, side strips, and door handles are black chrome. Underneath the vehicle is a chassis of basic molded low raised detail.
The wheels are of a soft plastic or rubber slipped onto very detailed hubs.

Finish

The model is molded in ultramarine color. The finish is smooth and shiny.

Summary

This HO scale station wagon is certain to enhance any modern diorama or model railroad. Sporting sharp exterior detail, a detailed interior, and lenses for lights instead of paint, this is a fine model. Recommended.
SUMMARY
