Mercedes-Benz Viano minivans are now available from Herpa. This is another of the model vehicle giant’s latest modern offerings.

Introduction
Family vans and minivans are a significant presence on today’s roads. Mercedes-Benz offers the Viano, the luxurious family van for families. Herpa offers Vianos in several colors and as a taxi.

Herpa Mercedes-Benz Viano
Factory assembled and ready to go, Herpa presents an excellent model of the Viano. It’s securely packed in a form-fitted tray. The tray is held inside Herpa’s red carton with a plastic film window, and opens via tabs at each end. A Daimler licensing label is on one flap. The model is skillfully molded and assembled without any blemishes or flaws. Doors, hoods, and access panel lines are defined with fine recessed lines, as is the grille. The door handles are raised. Soft tires mounted on detailed hubs support the model.

Detail and Trim
The model features headlights and tail lights of appropriately colored clear lenses. Detail inside the passenger compartment includes a dashboard, steering wheel, gear shift, console and seats; this detail can be seen through the windows. The back passenger seats face each other.

Exterior detail includes side view mirrors. The black grille sports chrome trim, including the Mercedes-Benz emblem. Windshield wipers detail the windshield. Black chrome surrounds all windows. Atop the roof are molded fine cargo rails. Underneath the vehicle is a chassis of molded raised detail.

The wheels are of a soft plastic or rubber.

Finish
The model is molded in color; Herpa offers the model in white, metallic blue, and metallic red. The finish is smooth. No decals are used—Herpa does not use decals.

Summary
This HO scale minivan is certain to enhance any modern diorama or model railroad. Sharp exterior detail, a detailed interior, and lenses for lights instead of paint, this is a fine model. Recommended.
SUMMARY
Highs: Sharp molding and finish. The nice interior is easy to see through the windows.
Lows: Molded detail for the underbody.
Verdict: This HO scale minivan is certain to enhance any modern diorama or model railroad.
