BRABUS
Founded in 1977, BRABUS refines automobiles to a new level of style and performance, including the M-B SLS. According to BRABUS
The exclusive program comprises an aerodynamic-enhancement kit made from clear-coated carbon fiber, extremely lightweight BRABUS forged wheels with a comfortable sport suspension, engine tuning that produces a maximum power output of 611 hp (600 bhp)/448 kW, a titanium high-performance exhaust system with electronic sound management, and a fully customiz interior tailored to the owner’s individual preferences in every last detail.**

Mercedes-Benz SLS
Bestowed the title of Supercar, Mercedes-Benz SLS roadsters are at the top of the luxury high-performance pyramid.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-Benz AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The car is the first Mercedes automobile designed in-house by AMG and is described by Mercedes as a spiritual successor to the 300SL Gullwing. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The SLS AMG is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, and can reach an electronically limited top speed of 197 mph (317 km/h) (figures are provisional.)

The SLS AMG is designed to be a modern 300SL Gullwing revival. The car has a long hood, the passenger compartment is close to the rear axle and the rear of the car is short. The SLS AMG will also adapt the feature of wing doors that will swing open upwards on gas struts, not in a mix of upwards and forward like the SLR. The doors must be closed manually as AMG engineers decided against auto-closing systems because the systems would have added 90 pounds (41 kg) to the car. In case of a roll-over, the doors can be fully detached to allow the occupants to leave the vehicle.*

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG "BRABUS", PC
Herpa currently catalogs 1534 Mercedes-Benz models of all types, including 4 SLS models. Nine BRABUS models are available among the 236 Private Collections models of the series.

First announced in Herpa CARS & TRUCKS NEWS & COLLECTION 11-12 2011 your Supercar model is fully assembled and packed in a light plastic form-fitted tray secured in a light cardboard box with a cellophane display window and opening ends. A holographic Daimler licensing tag is on one end. As a Private Collection model it is mounted in a showcase. The hard clear cover lifts off. You can easily remove the SLS from the base by loosening the clasps under the base.

I found no flaws in the molding or assembly. The exterior features fine recessed lines for doors and hoods and panels. While the underside has basic molded detailed, the tires have nice tread detail.
The windshield and windows are free of distortion.

You can see the nice interior if you try to.

Detailing
Individual clear lenses simulate the headlights, while tinted clear lenses simulate the chrome striped tail lights.

Separate side view mirrors are attached.

Soft plastic tires encompass the rims. They display good detail.

The interior is almost worth popping the model apart to see. Bucket seats, the steering wheel, console, rear-view mirror, stick shift and dashboard detailing fill the tight area; molded in a cool gray it is not easy to see without a flashlight.

Paint and Finish

This model and components beautifully finished with a glossy black exterior. Chrome accents accentuate the car. Mercedes-Benz herald is painted in the grille and the stylized BARBUS logo is stamp painted. These emblems and markings are sharply printed and not decals. Herpa does not use decals. The paint is thin, glass-smooth, and opaque. The unique BRABUS rims are molded in color. However, in photographs the rims are far brighter that on this model.

Conclusion
Herpa has released another super model of a beautiful Supercar. This Mercedes-Benz SLS is an impressive model with fine plastic detail and excellent finishing. It features lenses for headlights and brake lights, a detailed interior can be seen through the clear windows, and applied side view mirrors. Printing is sharp. Although the BRABUS rims do not seem chromed enough, I happily recommended this model for collectors, model railroaders, and dioramaists.
