Introduction: Project Armor35

Railroad modeling is being fortified with an ever expanding selection of models in the dominate military scale of 1/35. Project Armor35 is an endevour from Russia to create accurate 1/35 German and Soviet railway track circa the Great Patriotic War. Armor35 produces track and rail spikes in resin, wooden and resin sleepers (crossties), scaled sand and stone ballast, coal, and now figures.

While there is not currently a 'model railroad scale' for 1/35, it is very close to No. 1 Scale (also referred to as Gauge 1, Gauge One, 3/8", etc.) of 1/32. Regardless, it does afford some crossover to electric model railroading.

Currently Armor35 offers 20 1/35 models and accessories, including two figures. Resin, wood, and other natural materials are used to create these authentic products.

Railway sleeper (10 pcs)
Your sleepers (crosstie in AAR terminology) are packaged in a zip-locked baggie contained within a light plastic display carton; a paper label with a color photo of painted and stacked sleepers is the 'box art'.

The sleepers are resin with fine wood grain detail, even on the ends. Soviet ties were (are?) milled to the profile of an irregular hexagon. Each sleeper is 78.5825 mm / 3 3/32-inch long: approximately 8.96 feet / 2730 mm in 1/35. That is right for Soviet 5-foot / 1520 mm gauge track. They are nicely cast although each has a big pour block on one end.

Ten sleepers come in a set. Armor35's standard length of track is a scale 12500 mm and is seated upon 20 sleepers, and their "1/2 length" track features 10 ties.

Conclusion
These resin sleepers are very good. Whether you stack them next to your track as extras, or use them to build your own, they should be very useful. Recommended.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here on RailRoadModeling.
SUMMARY
