Green Fruit Tree is part of the top-line offering of NOCH PROFI series, designed to be true to scale with scale foliage for professional models.

Green Fruit Tree Obstbaum grün 7.5 cm

NOCH packs PROFI trees in a blister pack stapled to a heavy card backing label. The tree is secured by the root base in slots. Useful human silhouette graphics on the front in H0 (1/87); TT (1/100); N (1/160); and Z (1/220) scales, with graduation marks help modelers judge the height of the tree per desired scale. On the back label is a table listing trees that NOCH offers, their prototype heights, and the height in scale for HO, TT, N, and Z Scales.

This tree is made from plastic. The trunk is molded with bark detail. It is inserted into a root base, which on this model leaves a slight gap between the trunk and root base. The base is molded to resemble roots in earth.

The trunk is molded with integral boughs and branches, and several of each that appear to be separately attached.

NOCH hand paints the trunks to avoid any shiny plastic surface. Brown paint is used. Trees that I look at tend to have gray trunks with browner branches. You can repaint it without much effort if you so choose to.

This model has tangled boughs and a good shape. Often domestic fruit tree branches are "trained" into whorls that give the tree a uniform shape. This model is realistic oval and is not toy-like symmetrical.

For foliage NOCH covers the branches with fine fiber before they are flocked. NOCH uses their own milled and painted material representing the leaf shapes and colors of the subject tree. The leaf veils mimic what I am used to seeing on trees.

The foliage is in different colors and has no sheen to it. The result is a convincing tree that does not have the "cookie cutter" duplication of most mass-marketed model trees.

I offer a lot of photos so you can inspect the tree's branches and foliage from various angles.

Scale Size

How tall is a 3-inch tree in your favorite scale?

    1/32 (54 mm): 8’ / 2.5 m
    1/35: 8.75’ / 2.6 m
    1/48: 12’ / 3.7 m
    1/72: 18’ / 5.5 m
    1/87 (HO): 22’ / 6.6 m
    1/100 (TT): 25' / 7.5 m
    1/144: 36’ / 11 m
    1/160 (N): 40’ / 15 m
    1/220 (Z): 55' / 16.8 m

To visually demonstrate this model, I show it with 1/32-35 figures; a 1/48 truck and figures; a 1/72 P-40 and mechanic; an HO box car and car knocker; a 1/87 modern car and driver; a Roco (now Herpa) 1/87 Minitank 8" howitzer and soldiers; and an N scale caboose.

Summary

My PROFI green fruit tree looks very convincing with nice armatures, bark detail, and fine leaf detail and color. The realistic shape is open and shows the armatures within. However, it has a gap where the trunk fits into the root base, and it is painted brown. This tree looks very good and can be good front row tree. Recommended.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on KitMaker.
