Six times a year Herpa publishes their flagship magazine DER MASS:STAB Modellfahrzeug-Magazin. Issue 6/Dezember 2012 is full of interesting and detailed models and stories for winter.

TITELSTORY / COVER STORY
Klettermaxe: Der Neue Melmer-Truck (Climber: The New Melmer Truck): MAN’s TGX XXL silo tanker semi show truck of the Tyrolean company Melmer. The truck is decorated in honor of free-climbers including double lead climbing world champion Angela “Angy” Eiter. This strikingly painted truck is also available as a Herpa model.

NEUHEITEN / NEWS, January/February 2013
New Herpa models to be released this January/February are showcased. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Audi A3 Sportback models are front and center, as are a Atego Platform Wrecker with Crane, ambulances, varieties of specialized trailers, fire trucks, police cars, small private cars, construction trucks, special edition machines, and a special edition custom Scania tractor-trailer. Also included are Russian and NVA ZIL and UAZ vans and trucks.

REPORTAGE / REPORTING

    1. Vom Biedermann zum Brandstifter (Opel Kadett – From Upright Citizen to Arsonist). I think something got lost in the title translation, however this sizzling Rallye-Kadett shows how many horses can be stuffed under the hood of a small rally racer.

    2. Mekka Der Brummifans (The Mecca of Trucker Fans ). A photo expose of the 2012 IAA Hannover truck show. Many of the trucks seen there are now Herpa models.
Werbung Mit Pfiff (Advertise with a Whistle). Great Taxis ( Großraumtaxis ) in the form of a Mercedes-Benz Actros taxi truck.

    3. Aus Liebe Zum Motorrad (Out of Love For Motorcycle). Big rigs and Harley-Davidsons!

    4. Der Zweite Klassiker (The Second Classic). A preserved and operating McCormick D326 tractor; Herpa released this tractor as their second classic tractor, and it was reviewed here at RailRoadModeling.

UMBAU / CONVERSIONS

    a. Ein Kompakter Kippert (A Compact Kippert): Modeler Hartmut van Jüchems’ amazing animated tipping dump truck! The model is highly modified with paint and decals, too!

    b. Bunte Arbeitswelt (Colorful World Of Work). Spectacular work vehicles, heavy and light, cusatom painted, populating a model truck park.

    c. Es Grünt So Grün (It's So Green) . Modeler Albert Rademacher demonstrates how to make incredible evergreen trees for his model railroad.

    d. Autos Von Morgen (Cars Of Tomorrow). New and future BMW 2er and 4er automobiles.

    e. Geduldsprobe (Trial of Patience ). A young woman pedestrian waits her turn to cross a very busy grade crossing in this diorama of 1960s Germany. Demonstrated is how to create roadways and scenery.

DIORAMA

In Luftiger Höhe (Airy In Height). Hartmut van Jüchems builds a diorama of an animated heavy crane model erecting a wind turbine.
Das Rentiergespann War Doch Sicherer (But the Reindeer Team Was Safe) Whimsical diorama of Santa and his bare-bottomed helperette looking over their spilled bags of goodies. The scene includes a tractor and wagon that had a mishap crossing a railroad track.
