I posted this on Armorama. Would any one be interested in joining a Godzilla Campaign? Subjects included would be the monster (himself), his monster foes, tanks, trucks, aircraft, ships, trains, other special equipment, buildings (power lines!) and other subjects included in the movie franchise. All scales would be included.

Sounds interesting. I have the Polar Lights Aurora repop of the classic kit, so I would be in for this one!

Stephen, that would be very cool. I believe someone made the new version also.

My thoughts are that there would be several subjects to model. I have an M1A1 (HA)Abrams, JADSF Tyep 61 and Type 90 that would be appropriate for a Godzilla Campaign.

Subjects included would be the monster (himself), his monster foes, tanks, trucks, aircraft, ships, trains, other special equipment, buildings (power lines!) and other subjects included in the movie franchise. All scales would be included.

The proposed Godzilla Campaign rules are very simple.

Operational Overview
Godzilla has become a monster movie franchise over the past 50 years. This campaign is designed to focus attention on this pop culture phenomenon. The campaign is open to models from all the Godzilla films with no limit to scale. Subjects included would be the monster (himself), his monster foes, tanks, trucks, aircraft, ships, trains, other special equipment, buildings (power lines!) and other subjects included in the movie franchise. All scales would be included. Scratch building is encouraged.

The Rules and Regs
Build a Godzilla related subject from a kit, parts or scratch. Specifically, any subject in the franchise is open for modeling. Subjects included would be the monster (himself), his monster foes, tanks, trucks, aircraft, ships, trains, other special equipment, buildings (power lines!) and other subjects included in the movie franchise. Pretty much anything JSDF, US, or other countries depicted in the film series. All scales are included.
Kits may be partially started, no restrictions on how much work was previously completed.
Post photos of the starting point for your build.
At least two photos of the completed subject must be posted in the Godzilla Campaign Photo Album.
Have fun.

Contest Element
Only one ribbon will be awarded per entry.

The Godzilla Campaign Proposal has been submitted. There are five of us committed to do the campaign. I believe that this would be a fun build for all modelers.

Sounds cool.
How long will the campaign run for? I work slow, the longer the better as far as I am concerned.

Traditionally ARMORAMA likes to have a minimum of 10 to enlist before a Campaign is given a go, so... I need something to build and being a closet Godzilla fan I'd hate to see this become extinct so I'll toss my name in there.

Hopefully we'll get the next 4 real fast!

I don't know if there's any current ModelGeek Editor since I stepped down and thus can't approve Campaigns anymore. You may have to go through the Armorama Admin channels to get this approved once you have 10 enlistees.

Amazed this hasn't gotten more attention. You could do any aircraft, ship or armored vehicle of the JSDF as it all has appeared in the franchise at one point or another. You could also do an AH-64 apache or M1 as they were in the American movie.

The space ship Atragon is a model and if you wanted to include Gamera you could even add the Space Battleship Yamato.

Howdy Y'all
Maybe if we had a list of the JSDF equipment that were used in the movies we could let the Aeroscale and Armorama folks know about this proposed campaign. I agree with Stephen, there is a lot of hardware that you would think would interest the other modelers.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Some food for thought. I pulled some candidates from my collection which could be used in the Godzilla Campaign.

I submitted the Godzilla Campaign Proposal but haven't heard back from the powers that be to get this going.
